In feng shui, the money frog is one of the most prosperous symbols for attracting money. It is also known as the three legged toad, or ‘Chan Chu', in Chinese. It is legend that the money frog appears nearby to homes which are about to receive good news or financial increase. For this reason, the Money Frog is an emblem to monetary gain in feng shui, and in Oriental countries, they can be seen on cash registers, front desks and receptions, and around most offices. The money frog is usually represented as sitting upon a treasure of coins, gold ingots and jewels, and holding a coin in its mouth. It has seven dots on its back which is symbolic of the Ursa Major, the seven stars of the Great North Pole, and is said to multiply wealth. To enhance the power of your money frog, feng shui advises several things: To increase luck and financial income, place your money frog in the south east, or wealth sector, of your living room or office. In your place of business, or home, it is good practise to place two money frogs inside your front door. One facing inwards, which attracts the flow of prosperous energies and increase of cash flow, and one facing outwards which is said to collect the income. For those who earn commission it is recommended to place a money frog next to your desk or working area. It is ideal to place nine money frogs around your home and garden, as it symbolises the drawing of prosperous energy from each corner of the compass. Your money frogs should be discretely positioned around living room, each facing in a different direction of the compass, and one facing inwards through the front door, to enhance their power in calling fortune and financial gain. Three and six are also good number combinations for money frogs. It is advised never to place money frogs in the bathroom, toilet, kitchen or bedroom.
